September 9, 2008 – The Springfield Museums will pay tribute to Springfield's role in transportation history with the Springfield's World of Wheels car and motorcycle show on Saturday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the museum grounds at the Quadrangle. Automobiles from every decade since 1893 will be exhibited along with vintage motorcycles.

September 4, 2008 – The Springfield Museums will hold an Open House for principals, teachers and PTO leaders from Pre-K through 12th grade schools on Wednesday, October 1, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The event will help school educators learn about the Museums and how a field trip can supplement classroom study. Admission is free with a school ID. Teachers may bring one guest free of charge. Refreshments will be served. Advance registration is required.
